Checks do not reveal significant violations at National Medical University - Rector Amosova

KYIV. Nov 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Checks conducted by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine of the Bohomolets National Medical University have not revealed significant violations and the university has prepared objections to all the commission's remarks, Rector Yekateryna Amosova said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine.

"Checks have not completed, but it is now clear: there have not been revealed significant violations at the university. The ministry has ten days to work out the objections of the university. Only afterwards will a final conclusion will be made," the rector said.

According to Amosova, the checks were selective as they were originally organized as a means of punishment for the university, which was not afraid to speak out against the officials after it filed a lawsuit against the ministry and won.

"They decided to repress us. This is a modern "doctors' case." Checks were originally conceived to change the rector for a more convenient and obedient person," she said.

In her opinion, First Deputy Minister of Health Oleksandra Pavlenko "has a direct personal conflict with Amosova and with the university staff."

"Without waiting for the conclusions of the commission, the first deputy minister of health announced a staff reshuffle in the university, which proves her political bias," Amosova said.
