KYIV. April 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The accumulated pension system could be introduced in Ukraine only after overcoming the economic crisis, MP Natalia Korolevska (the Opposition Bloc) has said.

"If we don’t bring the situation from the deep economic dive, the accumulated pension system is out of question today," she said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.

The lawmaker said that one of the key conditions for introducing the accumulated pension system is overcoming the deficit of the Pension Fund. This could be made with the help of removing alien expenses at the fund.

Korolevska said that today the deficit of the Pension Fund is over UAH 80 billion, including UAH 60 billion of compensations promised by the state in the form of various bonuses to pensions which are to be paid from the national budget.

The country should have the developed stock market for the introduction of the accumulated pension system, and the management of the accumulated funds should be transparent.
