Poroshenko Bloc, Radical Party, Batkivschyna and Svoboda to win seats on parliament - poll

Kyiv, October 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Bloc of Petro Poroshenko, Oleh Liashko's Radical Party, the Batkivschyna All-Ukrainian Union and the Svoboda All-Ukrainian Union will overcome the 5% election threshold in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Ukraine, according to a survey conducted by the All-Ukrainian Sociological Service on September 15-21.

Director for Scientific Issues at the All-Ukrainian Sociological Service Borys Sahalakov presented the results of the survey at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.

According to the poll, 26.2% of all respondents are ready to vote for the Bloc of Poroshenko, 8.1% for the Radical Party, 7.6% for Batkivschyna, and 6.1% for Svoboda.

Sahalakov said that Civil Position (4.3%), People's Front (4.3%), Sergiy Tigipko's Strong Ukraine (3.1%) and Samopomich Union (2.1%) also have a good chance of overcoming the election threshold.

Some 1.6% of those polled are ready to support the Communist Party, 1.2% the Opposition Bloc, 0.8% the Zastup Party, and 0.4% the Right Sector.

Some 2.6% would vote for other parties, 10.4% do not trust anyone, and 21.2% were undecided.

According to the survey, 42.4% of respondents would definitely participate in the elections, 21.5% would most likely participate in the vote, 7.2% would definitely not go to the polls, 8.8% would most likely not participate in the elections, and 20.1% were undecided.

Sahalakov predicted that turnout would reach about 60%.

A total of 1,600 respondents were interviewed in all regions of Ukraine, except Crimea and Sevastopol. In Donetsk and Luhansk regions the survey was conducted "only in the territories controlled by the Ukrainian authorities."

The poll's margin of error does not exceed 3.2%.
