Another Russian writes appeal to Putin to exchange him for Ukrainian political prisoners – Denisova

A citizen of the Russian Federation Pavel Chernykh, who is detained in the Mariupol Detention Center, has written an appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin asking to exchange him for Ukrainian political prisoners held in Russia, Ukrainian ombudswoman Liudmyla Denisova has said.

"We have just received a request from the Russian citizen Pavel Chernykh (Mariupol detention facility) to the president of the Russian Federation with a request to return him to the territory of Russia by exchanging for one of the Ukrainian political prisoners," wrote Denisova on her Facebook page on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, the ombudswoman reported that three other Russian citizens who are held in places of detention in Ukraine wrote statements addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin asking to exchange them for Ukrainian political prisoners held in Russia.

As reported, already 11 citizens of the Russian Federation serving sentences in places of imprisonment in Ukraine have written statements addressed to Putin with a request to facilitate their return to their homeland by exchanging Ukrainian political prisoners for them in the Russian Federation.

In particular, on August 2, such a statement was filed by Russian citizen Alexei Sedikov, who is serving a sentence for terrorism in the Buchanska colony, and on August 14, applications were filed by Alexander Sattarov and Farukh Kamalov, who are kept in the Lukyanivske detention facility in Kyiv.

On August 15, eight other citizens of the Russian Federation wrote such applications: Vyacheslav Vysotsky (Cherkasy correctional facility No. 62), Valery Ivanov and Alexander Valehidis (Drohobych penal colony No. 40), Vladislav Grechin (Odesa Penitentiary Institution No. 21), Viktor Ageyev (Romenska Correctional Colony No. 56), Oleg Doronin (Horodyshchenska penal colony No. 96), Denis Sidorov and Yevgeny Shatalov (Zhytomyr Penitentiary Institution No. 8).
