Law on Supreme Anti-Corruption Court should be adopted in spring – Poroshenko
The law on the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court must be finally adopted in spring, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.
"I think that the law should be finally adopted in spring. By the way, it has already come," the president said at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine in Kyiv on Thursday.
He recalled that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed the bill at the first reading on Thursday and according to the regulations of the Verkhovna Rada, two weeks are necessary to prepare the document for the second reading.
"Then there should be a meaningful discussion of those project norms that caused the most discussions. And I declare that discussions are needed, that careful consideration is also needed ... But I would like to immediately say the following: I will not let the project be started with meaningless rhetoric or spelling corrections. I don't want the bill to be stalled before flooring it for a vote," Poroshenko said.
