Ukraine meets European integration commitments by 41% in 2017

Ukraine last year met its European integration commitments by 41%, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze has said.

"The Verkhovna Rada Ukraine met its integration obligations by 30%, the Cabinet of Ministers - by 42%, other executive authorities - by 50%. This means that Ukraine as in general has advanced by 41%," she said, opening the conference entitled "Results of the Implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union in 2017 and Future Plans" in Kyiv on Friday.

At the same time, she named the transport sector, customs and health care systems among the key tasks of Ukraine on European integration in 2018. In particular, in the customs sphere she pointed out the need to establish an authorized economic operator this year.

"In 2018, we will approve updated amendments to the [Association] Agreement," Klympush-Tsintsadze said, adding that this year Ukraine intends to approve "road maps" with the EU with regard to the harmonization of legislation in the services sector.
