Foreign Ministry demands from Russia to end politically motivated persecution of Crimean Tatars

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has expressed their protest against the consideration of cases against six representatives of the Crimean Tatar people in the North Caucasus court, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expresses its strong protest in connection with the continuation of consideration of the case fabricated against the citizens of Ukraine Muslim Aliyev, Emir-Usein Kuk, Vadym Siruk, Enver Bekirov, Refat Alimov, Arsen Dzheparov in the North Caucasus District Military Court," the message says.

The ministry urged the world community to condemn the anti-human and illegal activities of the judicial bodies of the Russian Federation and to increase political and diplomatic pressure on the aggressor state with the goal of releasing citizens of Ukraine illegally held in Russia and on the territory of the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

"The judicial farce, set up by the Russian side, is another example of the use by the occupying country of repressions against the Crimean Tatar people under the pretext of "combating terrorism," the Foreign Ministry said.
