OSCE observers record over 400,000 ceasefire breaches in Donbas in 2017
Observers from the Special Monitoring Mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE SMM) recorded 401,000 instances of ceasefire violation in the Donbas conflict zone in 2017, the SMM's first deputy head Alexander Hug said.
During the whole of 2017 SMM observers recorded at least 401,000 ceasefire violations and 4,000 weapons present where they should not have been under the disengagement agreement, Hug said at a briefing in Severodonetsk, Luhansk region on Thursday.
Also, since the beginning of the year the SMM has confirmed 18 civilian casualties (dead and injured).
In 2017, the SMM confirmed 479 civilian casualties (dead and injured), he said.
