The Japanese government will provide free of charge assistance in the amount of $300,000 to Ukraine for the implementation of four health care and education projects.

"Some 400 applications have been submitted for Kusanone projects this year. Four projects were selected and these are good and quality projects," Japanese Ambassador to Ukraine Shigeki Sumi said at the ceremony of signing the documents in Kyiv.

In particular, the following contracts have already been signed: the one for the implementation of the project to improve medical equipment in health facilities in Dubno (Rivne region), the project to improve medical equipment in Putylivska central district hospital in Sumy region, as well as the project to improve the sanitary environment in Kharkiv Regional Center for Palliative Medicine Hospice, and the project to improve the educational environment in Kulykiv secondary school in Chernihiv region.

"We expect the projects to start work in six months," the ambassador added.

The projects will be implemented in Rivne, Sumy, Chernihiv regions and the city of Kharkiv.

The Japanese ambassador also expressed hope that eight more projects will be realized in 2018.
