The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine sends UAH 1 billion to compensate 25% of the cost of Ukrainian-made agricultural machinery to farmers, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said.

"We are continuing the program to support the production of domestic agricultural machinery in the country. This year we are sending UAH 1 billion for these purposes. In fact, we will compensate 25% of the cost of agricultural machinery produced by Ukrainian hands, produced in the country. We will compensate 25% of [the cost of] the equipment for those who buy it. In fact, we expect an increase in the production of Ukrainian agricultural machinery, which is quite competitive," he said at a government meeting on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food is counting on a 20% increase in the production of domestic agricultural machinery in 2018 thanks to this program.

As reported, in 2017 the agrarians started to receive partial payment of the cost for machinery through state-owned banks in the amount of 20%, under the condition when the localization of production of this equipment in the country exceeds 35%.

The national budget 2017 provided UAH 550 million for this program.
