Lutsenko: we plan special confiscation of another UAH 3 bln in H1, 2018

Ukrainian law enforcement agencies intend to hold a special confiscation of another UAH 3 billion in the first half of 2018, Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko has said.

"We plan to conduct a special confiscation of another UAH 3 billion in the first half of this year," he said at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on national security and defense issues in Kyiv on Wednesday.

Lutsenko noted the banks have the right to execute court rulings both independently and through the executive service order.

"Yesterday I appealed to the prime minister and asked to take under personal control the activities of the executive service, which should provide this special confiscation," he stressed.

The prosecutor general added he would not allow the cancellation of judicial decisions and the return of money to criminals.

"The attempts of representatives of offshore companies that cooperated with Yanukovych's organized crime group encounter Ukrainian laws that make it impossible for them to participate in the abolition of court decisions. The system works in such a way throughout the EU. So, the abusers have only one way out - to discredit the actions of the prosecutor's office and Kramatorsk court and try to take away money from Ukraine through decisions in foreign jurisdictions. Therefore a discredit campaign aimed at returning funds to criminals has been launched. That will not happen," said Lutsenko.

He also noted that this is not the end of special confiscation.
