British experts train police officers in Kyiv

UK officials in Ukraine have conducted a training course for investigative and operational units of the Kyiv police.

According to the communications department of the Kyiv police, a special program was developed for Ukrainian law enforcement officers, taking into account the specifics of their work.

During the training, British specialists showed the features of investigative actions at the scene of the crime. Representatives of each of the units tried themselves as witnesses, memorized and depicted tattoos.

Liaison officer of the National Crime Agency of Britain Patrick Torkington spoke about the common types of organized crime in the UK. He stressed that such trainings are very important for policemen.

"To find out something useful and use it in our future activities, we constantly provide practical assistance to Ukraine, including in investigating the facts of corruption and money laundering at the international level," he said.

The head of the international cooperation department of the Kyiv police main department, Volodymyr Scherba, in turn, noted that exchange of experience is a fundamentally important issue for the professionalism of Ukrainian police officers.

At the end of the event, the participants were awarded certificates and offered to leave feedback on impressions of the training, as well as express ideas on improvement of such activities in the questionnaires.
