President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko believes that investigators can apply to international organizations for examination of investigative materials on the case of the leader of the New Forces Movement party, ex-head of the Odesa regional state administration, Mikheil Saakashvili.

"In general, if we assess the situation with Saakashvili, it is not worth international attention, because there are specific crimes that were committed, and we must ensure: first, transparency of the investigation; secondly, the openness and impartiality of the investigative bodies, transparent effective, unbiased court," he said at a joint press conference with Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite in Vilnius on Friday, answering journalists' question.

According to Poroshenko, if there are facts of violation of laws, such as illegal crossing of the border, obtaining financing from the aggressor country, in order to undermine social peace in the state, there is also responsibility for this.

"In order to ensure absolute openness and confidence, I do not exclude, although the investigation is independent, that the investigation can appeal for additional examination, including to international organizations," the president said.
