EU insists on creation of Anti-Corruption Court in Ukraine in line with Venice Commission's recommendations – Mingarelli

Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli stresses the need to create an anti-corruption court in Ukraine in accordance with the recommendations of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission).

We must be particularly vigilant in the sphere of the rule of law. You know what needs to be done in the next few months. But I can not help saying that it is necessary to daily continue to tell the authorities that we need a new anti-corruption court and this court must be created in accordance with the recommendations of the Venice Commission, and not just at the level of the next working group, Mingarelli said, speaking at the All-Ukrainian Civil Society Assembly "SMARTreforms" in Kyiv on Friday.

According to him, the government was able to fulfill only three and a half of its promises out of five: pension reform, health care reform, education, and support for the law on privatization in the first reading.

Mingarelli also stressed the need to cancel revisions to the anti-corruption legislation, providing for mandatory electronic declaring for anti-corruption activists.
