Ukraine interested in stable situation in Georgia – PM Groysman

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili have discussed unity in matters of protecting the territorial integrity of both states, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reported on Monday.

The meeting between Groysman and Margvelashvili took place as part of the Ukrainian prime minister's official visit to Georgia.

"I would like to thank Georgia's leadership for the unchanged position and support of Ukraine. We are pleased to note the intensification of the political dialogue between our countries. I want to emphasize that Ukraine also consistently supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia. We are interested in a stable situation in your country and the preservation of the pro-European course," Groysman said.

He noted that special attention was paid to the interaction of the two countries in resolving the situation in Donbas, primarily the strengthening of the OSCE mission in the region and the promotion of diplomatic decisions on the deployment of a peacekeeping force to Donbas within the UN and inter-state associations, primarily GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Moldova), where Georgia presides.

Groysman said that equally important was cooperation as part of rapprochement with NATO and the European Union, as well as the development of bilateral trade relations.
