Samopomich demands explanations due to detention of activists

The political council of the Samopomich Party is outraged by the detention of activists Leonid Lytvynenko and Anatoliy Vynohrodsky and demands explanations from the president, the Interior Ministry and the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU).

"At least two activists were abducted within one hour on Sunday, November 26, in different cities of Ukraine. The first one is Leonid Lytvynenko, who was captured in Novohrad-Volynsky, where he and his fellows blocked the smuggling of Russian fuel to Ukraine... The second detainee is Anatoliy Vynohrodsky, who, according to the police, was detained in the case of an attack on a security guard in Kirovohrad region," the party's political council said in a statement released by the party's press service.

At the same time, the party said that Vynohrodsky was detained for defending local residents who were victims of raiders.

Earlier, the Vyzvolennia movement reported that on November 26, several gunmen captured a volunteer of the OUN battalion, Leonid Lytvynenko, in Novohrad-Volynsky, Zhytomyr region. Earlier, this organization announced the abduction of activist Oleksandr Novikov. As it became known, he was later arrested for 60 days.

In addition, ex-commander of the Donbas battalion Anatoliy Vynohrodsky was abducted on November 26. He was taken to Mariupol.

In turn, law enforcers reported the detention of a former leader of the Donbas battalion (the issue concerns Vynohrodsky) and his associate for an attack on a security guard at a private agricultural enterprise in Kirovohrad region in July. It was also reported that in Mariupol, the court arrested for 60 days, without the alternative right to post bail, a suspect in the kidnapping of a Donbas battalion fighter in 2014.
