Ukraine's Minister of Education and Science Liliya Hrynevych has declares that Ukraine's annual contribution for associated participation in CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research) is one million Swiss francs and this allows Ukrainian scientists to participate in research on its basis and companies to participate in tenders.

"In 2016 we paid CHF70,000, in 2017 this is CHF1 million due to the tenders and participation of our enterprises, our productions and scientific institutions in these tenders, these funds are returned to us," she said during a briefing when opening of the CERN in Images exhibition in Kyiv.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science Maksym Strikha noted that the contribution of CHF1 million is fixed and its payment is included in the draft national budget.

Hrynevych specified that two Ukrainian companies won CERN tenders for the supply of materials.
