Vyzvolennia (Release) civil movement activists have said unknown individuals abducted one of the organizers of the tent city near the Verkhovna Rada in Kyiv. The abductee is a Georgian Lieutenant Colonel Vano Nadiradze, who fought in eastern Ukraine during 2015 and 2016.

"About 10:30 in the morning we went with him to have breakfast in a nearby cafe. About five persons who identified themselves as criminal policemen stormed in, tackled [Nadiradze] and covered his eyes. After I was released, I saw that Vano was no longer in the cafe," Vyzvolennia activist Ruslav Dvornikov said on Friday during a press briefing in the tent city.

Parliament deputy Yehor Sobolev said he asked Interior Minister Arsen Avakov to investigate the incident. MP Semen Semenchenko said he identified the automobile that drove Nadiradze away.

Earlier, Movement of New Forces leader Mikheil Saakashvili, the ex-governor of Odesa region, said unknown men had kidnapped a Georgian journalist, an employee of one of the most popular Georgian television channels. According to Saakashvili, the person possessed documents proving he was on a legal basis in Ukraine.

Saakashvili's colleague David Sakvarelidze, in turn, said on Friday unknown persons "abducted a cameraman from Georgian TV channel Rustavi-2, as well as volunteer Nadiradze and Zurab Tsintsadze.
