Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), together with the police, have detained a citizen of Poland in Kyiv, who is put on the international wanted list.

The detainee is a member of an organized criminal group. He is accused of stealing almost EUR 2 million in one of the banks of Poland, the SBU press center reported.

"Law enforcers found that after the theft of money, the criminal was hiding in Kyiv and Odesa. The thief was constantly changing the apartments he lived in and phone numbers," the report says.

At the present time, the issue of choosing a preventive measure to the detainee until his extradition to Poland is being decided.

"The implementation of this operation is the result of an effective cooperation between the police of the Republic of Poland, established between the Security Service of Ukraine and the Central Bureau of Investigation," the report said.
