I respect the institute of president, Poroshenko himself, but I shouldn't seek president's goodwill - Avakov

Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov believes that the constitutional reform and the elimination of the dualism of power will allow prevent conflict situations between representatives of different branches of power.

On the air of 'Pravo na Vladu' (Right to Power) program on 1 + 1 TV channel, answering the question about what conflict took place between him and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Avakov ironically said: "May be, Kolomoisky?"

Answering the clarifying question whether the conflict between him and the president has come to an end, the minister said: "I do not know what you are talking about. There are different powers: the president and the minister have their powers ... The interior minister is subordinated to the president, to the government, which is subordinated to the parliament. And we have to get used to it."

Avakov continued in this context: "I respect the institute of the president and I respect President Poroshenko, but that does not mean that I should seek his favor, which means that we must ensure the cooperation of the branches of power."

"And since I am one of the apologists of the fact that the constitution must be changed in the country and the dualism of power should be eliminated, we need constitutional reform, which will remove any conflicts, whether it is Kolomoisky or our personal relations," he said.
