MP Friz doubts bill on Donbas will be adopted this week

Bloc of Petro Poroshenko MP Iryna Friz has predicted that bill No. 7163 on state policy on securing Ukraine's state sovereignty over temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions will be considered at second reading at the next session week, which begins on December 5, the bloc's press service has reported.

"According to the rules of procedure, 653 more amendments submitted by the subjects of the legislative initiative should be considered. I doubt that this week we will be able to consider the law at second reading in the session hall. It will not be earlier than the next session week," Friz said.

As for the amendment on cutting diplomatic relations with Russia, she said: "This issue does not concern this law. The text of the document was adopted as a basis, and amendments can be made in accordance with it. The issue of severing diplomatic relations does not concern the text of this bill and, accordingly, it cannot be included in it."

Friz said that if the amendments would be taken into account without additional discussions in the session hall, which takes time, then the bill would be passed at second reading.

"If we finish the consideration of amendments in the committee this week, then at the next session week, after the relevant conclusion, the bill will be put into the session hall," she added.
