Defense Minister of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak has discussed with UCC (Ukrainian Canadian Congress) Vice President joint actions to promote the national interests of Ukraine for the deployment of the UN peacekeeping mission in Donbas.

"In the course of the meeting with the chairman of the Congress of Ukrainians in Canada, Paul Grod, we have just coordinated joint actions to promote the national interests of the country for the deployment of a full-fledged UN mission in Donbas to achieve peace and security," Poltorak wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday morning.

The head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry is on a visit to Canada, where he takes part in the celebrations on the occasion of the opening of the UN International Conference on Peacekeeping in Vancouver. There he also met with Minister of International Development and La Francophonie of Canada Rable Marie-Claude Bibeau.

"I am grateful to all representatives of the government of Canada for their caring attitude to the problems of Ukraine and the support they always show at all international events," Poltorak wrote.
