Kyiv to host Days of Jerusalem on Nov 14-21
The Days of Jerusalem will be held in Kyiv from November 14 to November 21 with the support of the Israeli Embassy in Ukraine, Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Eliav Belotserkovsky has said.
"Jerusalem occupies a special place for every Israeli. This year we mark the 50th anniversary of the unification of Jerusalem... We would like to convey this atmosphere of Jerusalem, so we scheduled a number of cultural events that will be held in Kyiv," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday, November 9.
In particular, the Jerusalem Quartet will give a concert at the National Philharmonic of Ukraine on November 14.
In addition, as part of the Days of Jerusalem, on November 16, Kyiv will host the screenings of four films made in Israel. The films were awarded national prizes and took part in international movie reviews.
In particular, the movies to be presented at the festival are Matan Yair's drama "Scaffolding," Jonathan Geva's family fantasy "Abulele," Yoav and Doron Paz's horror movie "Jeruzalem," and Yuval Adler's thriller "Bethlehem."
According to organizers, film screenings can be attended by all those who wish by preliminary registration on the festival's website, which will be open from November 13.
Several lectures will also be held as part of the Days of Jerusalem.
