Saakashvili spends a night in tent camp near parliament

Leader of the Movement of New Forces party and former Odesa Regional Governor Mikheil Saakashvili has said that he spent a night in a tent outside the building of the Verkhovna Rada and invites Ukrainians to a gathering at 19.00.

"I spent the night in a tent in front of the Verkhovna Rada, where people gathered and are waiting for November 7, when the Verkhovna Rada should adopt the three promised laws in order to take the first steps to change the system," Saakashvili said in a video clip posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday morning.

The video shows how the politician leaves a big canvas tent and says "Good morning!"

Saakashvili said that lectures and seminars on political reform and information technologies would be held near the Verkhovna Rada on Wednesday.

"We are waiting for you. We'll have a general meeting at 19.00 on the Constitution Square near the Verkhovna Rada," he said.

The Ukrainian Interior Ministry reported on its Facebook page that as of 08.30, there were about 35 people in a tent camp on Hrushevskoho Street from Shovkovychna Street to Lypska Street. According to police, there were about 20 people near the tents located in the park and on the Constitution Square.

Saakashvili said on October 24 that he intended to move to a tent near the building of the Verkhovna Rada. He also said that a rally would be held on the Constitution Square near the building of parliament at 19.00 on October 25.
