Odesa mayor Trukhanov searched under investigation of two criminal cases – NABU
Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) under the procedural leadership of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) are conducting searches at the place of work and residence of the mayor of Odesa Henadiy Trukhanov within the investigation of two criminal proceedings.
In the context of a criminal proceeding, the possible appropriation of local budget funds is being investigated by overrating the cost of works on the reconstruction of roads and further transferring of illegally obtained revenues to the accounts of controlled offshore companies, the press service of NABU said on Facebook on Monday.
The second proceeding concerns the transfer of property of the airport Odesa International Airport to the charter capital of Odesa International Airport LLC, as a result of which, according to detectives, the property of the territorial community was illegally taken, the damages of the last amount to more than UAH 100 million.
"The searches are carried out at the place of residence of persons who may be involved in the commission of these criminal offenses and at the location of things and documents relevant to criminal proceedings. In view of the fact that the detectives also verify the version of the possible involvement of the mayor of Odesa in these criminal offenses, investigative actions (searches) are carried out at the place of his work and residence," the NABU said.
Earlier on this day, a source in law enforcement agencies told the Interfax-Ukraine news agency that investigators of the NABU on Monday conducted investigative actions in the office of Trukhanov.
As reported, at the beginning of October 2017 Trukhanov visited the office of NABU during his visit to Kyiv.
