Ukraine should quickly create Anti-Corruption Court, limit immunity of deputies – Groysman

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman believes that Ukraine needs to create an Anti-Corruption Court and limit the immunity of Verkhovna Rada deputies without postponing it for a long time.

"The country still needs appropriate changes and quality solutions in many areas, in particular, we need to establish or complete the formation of anti-corruption institutions by the creation of the Anti-Corruption Court, and this is absolutely important and is the right decision. We need to limit the immunity of Ukrainian MPs," he said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on Wednesday.

The prime minister said that many deputies support the idea of limiting immunity.

"We need to collect the majority of votes to adopt these decisions. And it is very important to adopt them without shifting for some time in the future," Groysman said.

As reported, on October 17, Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko submitted to the Verkhovna Rada an urgent bill on amendments to Article 80 of the Constitution of Ukraine, abolishing the immunity from prosecution for people's deputies of Ukraine which is to come into force since 2020.
