410 Civil Aviation Plant, Rockwell Collins to cooperate in aircraft modernization

The Kyiv-based 410 Civil Aviation Plant, part of the Ukroboronprom State Concern, and U.S. multinational company Rockwell Collins are planning to cooperate in the field of aircraft modernization, an Interfax-Ukraine reporter has said.

The sides signed a respective memorandum on cooperation during the Arms and Security 2017 exhibition, which takes place in Kyiv on October 10-13.

Director General of the 410 Civil Aviation Plant Viktor Hankevych said after the signing of the document that the program of cooperation with Rockwell Collins opens up new market opportunities for the Ukrainian aircraft repair plant. In addition to installing modern on-board equipment during aircraft modernization, the company also plans to become a regional dealer of Rockwell Collins and independently perform warranty repair of equipment, he added.

According to the agreement with the American partner, specialists of the Ukrainian plant will undergo proper training, he said.

The 410 Civil Aviation Plant is the sole enterprise in Ukraine that repairs Antonov aircraft and D-36 engines. Since June 2015, the enterprise has been part of the Ukroboronprom State Concern. In July 2015, the enterprise was certified its compliance with NATO standards.

Rockwell Collins Inc. is the world-known American manufacturer of aviation electronics. In September 2017, it became part of United Technologies Corporation (UTC).
