The units of the National Guard of Ukraine, performing tasks in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) zone, are ready for the introduction of the UN peacekeeping mission to Donbas, Commander of the National Guard Yuriy Alerov has said.

"If it is a peacekeeping operation under the auspices of the United Nations, we are ready to support these measures. If it entails the need to increase [the number of servicemen of the National Guard in ATO], we will do it," he told journalists in Donetsk region on Wednesday.

In his turn, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Serhiy Yarovy said that today all the police units and the National Guard are ready to carry out tasks in the ATO zone," they are absolutely combat-ready and motivated."

Answering the clarifying question, whether it concerns the possibility of introducing a UN peacekeeping mission in Donbas, Yarovy said: "Including."

Earlier, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko said that Ukraine would make a written version of the initiative to introduce a UN peacekeeping mission to Donbas after agreeing with partner countries. According to him, Russia's introduction of a "raw version" of the resolution hinders Ukraine, which is currently negotiating with partners.
