Russia-backed militants attack ATO positions 25 times over past day, one soldier injured

Militants of illegal armed formations have committed 25 shelling attacks of the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) area over the past day, as a result of which one Ukrainian serviceman has been injured, the press center of the ATO headquarters reported.

"Over the past day, the intensity of enemy attacks in the ATO area has slightly decreased, while the most attacks of the enemy were recorded in the dark as usual, after 18:00 [...] In total, for the past day, Russian-occupation groups opened fire 25 times on the strongholds of the Ukrainian army. During military operations, one of our military has been injured. In several cases, when enemy shelling carried a direct threat to the lives of our defenders, the ATO forces opened fire in return to defeat," the ATO staff said on Facebook.

In the Donetsk sector, militants fired on Avdiyivka's vicinity using grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms. Militants also fired near Pisky, Kamianka and Zaitseve.

In the Mariupol sector, militants fired on the strongholds of the Armed Forces near Vodiane from rocket-propelled grenades, near Hnutove they applied infantry fighting vehicle, while small arms were used near Maryinka and Shyrokyne.

In the Luhansk sector, the militants used anti-aircraft guns near Krymske and a grenade launcher near Stanytsia Luhanska.
