When preparing amendments to Constitution on Crimean Tatar autonomy commission proceeds from UN principles – Chubarov
The Constitutional Commission, when preparing amendments to the Basic Law relating to the Crimean Tatar national autonomy, proceeds from the principles of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, President of the World Crimean Tatar Congress, MP Refat Chubarov has said.
"The Constitutional Commission of Ukraine is currently working and the mechanism for resolving legal issues that is embedded in the UN declaration on the rights of indigenous peoples is fully used when developing changes to the Constitution of Ukraine," Chubarov said during the presentation of the results of the two-year strategy of public diplomacy of the Crimean Tatars in honor of the 10th anniversary of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in Kyiv on Wednesday.
