Govt seeks to finish gas imports parity talks with IMF soon
The Ukrainian government plans soon to finish talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) related to the change of the formula for calculating gas imports parity, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion has said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
"We back imports parity in prices, but let's set the periods in the right way… The proposals of the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry are approved by all central executive power agencies and by the government committee. You may know that there some commitments from the previous periods, and now the talks with the IMF are underway. I think that the talks will be finished soon and the chapter will be closed," he said.
Kistion recalled that the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry proposes that the average price of imported gas for the period of six months is taken into account instead of 12 months as it is foreseen in government resolution No. 187.
