Kyiv calls Russia, ORDLO to maximal truce compliance on Sept 1

The Ukrainian side in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) calls for doing everything possible to ensure that the ceasefire in Donbas to be fully observed from September 1, Darka Olifer, press secretary of Ukraine's second president and representative to the Trilateral Contact Group Leonid Kuchma said following the results of the TCG video conference with the invitation of the ORDLO representatives, held on Thursday.

"The Ukrainian side has been consistently fulfilling its obligations under the agreement on the ceasefire regime since August 25, 2017. At the same time, the ceasefire is systematically violated by the ORDLO, which indicates that the Russian Federation and the ORDLO do not adhere to the reached agreements," Olifer wrote on her Facebook page on Thursday.

According to her, the absence of appropriate orders is evidence of this: the information of the OSCE SMM, the illegal armed groups of ORDLO learned from the media about the call of the Trilateral Contact Group to the ceasefire regime on the occasion of the new school year."

The spokeswoman of Kuchma also said that the TCG urged the ORDLO to ensure full and unhindered access of the OSCE SMM throughout the Donbas region - from the contact line to the Ukrainian-Russian border.

"The Ukrainian side called for everything to be done to ensure that the cease-fire regime to be fully complied with tomorrow, on September 1. Violations of the ceasefire regime on the part of the ORDLO should be investigated by the OSCE SMM, and the perpetrators - identified and punished, with concrete examples and making such cases public," Olifer said.
