Ukrainian, Polish military officials discuss Russia-Belarus military exercise

The Ukrainian and Polish chiefs of general staff, Viktor Muzhenko and Leszek Surawski, are meeting in Kyiv on Wednesday to discuss military cooperation and the upcoming Russian-Belarusian exercise, Zapad (West) 2017.

"At the talks, the sides will discuss pressing issues of military cooperation, in particular increasing the number of joint trainings and drills carried out by the headquarters and forces of the two countries. Other items on the talks' agenda include assessment of the potential threats associated with the Zapad 2017 Russia-Belarus joint strategic exercise," the Ukrainian Armed Forces public relations department said in a statement early on Wednesday.
