Israel ready not to include agricultural products to FTA agreement with Ukraine

Israel is ready not to include agricultural products in the free trade area (FTA) agreement with Ukraine, Minister for Environmental Protection, for Jerusalem Affairs and Israeli Heritage Zeev Elkin has said.

"There is one important moment that is beyond the negotiations between the economy ministries [of Ukraine and Israel]. This concerns agriculture… We have approved a model proposed by the Economic [Development and Trade] Ministry [of Ukraine] and Mrs. Mykolska [Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Ukraine's Trade Representative Natalia Mykolska]: maybe from the Ukraine's point of view it is more convenient for us not to include this topic in the FTA agreement," Elkin said at a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman in Kyiv.

He said that the issue of supplies of agricultural products could be regulated in agreements signed by economy ministries of the two countries and supplying companies.
