MP Rozenblat loses foreign passport, hands in diplomatic passport

According to the Migration Service of Ukraine, the foreign passport of MP Boryslav Rozenblat was lost and he applied for a new one, prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) Maksym Kravchenko has said.

"According to the information we have, Mr. Rozenblat was handed over two documents for traveling abroad: a passport for travelling abroad [foreign one], and a passport of a citizen of Ukraine which, according to the State Migration Service, is registered as the lost one," he told journalists in Kyiv on Thursday.

The prosecutor suggested that such information is based on the relevant application of the passport holder.

"Secondly, we have information received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that Rozenblat has handed over his foreign passport, which is diplomatic. That is why we can not say in this case that he failed to fulfill the court's decision," Kravchenko said.

At the same time, he said that the decision of the court, by which Rozenblat is obliged to hand over his foreign passport, applies not only to the documents which are currently in his possession, but also to future ones.

The Solomiansky District Court began considering the motion to review the court's decision on pretrial restriction to Rozenblat in connection with the newly emerged circumstances. The judge announced a break in the meeting in order to give time to the trial participants and the court to receive the case materials and study them. The date and time for the continuation of the hearing have not been determined yet.
