The Ukrainian Embassy in Washington has said the Ukrainian government didn't help any of the presidential candidates in the 2016 U.S. election.

"We stand by our words that the government of Ukraine didn't help any candidate in Election. Ukraine is proud of bipartisan support in the US," the embassy said on Twitter on Tuesday.

U.S. President Donald Trump wrote earlier in his Twitter that the Ukrainian side attempted to sabotage his election campaign, acting in favor of his rival Hillary Clinton.

"Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump campaign - "quietly working to boost Clinton." So where is the investigation A.G. [Attorney General]" Trump said in his tweet on Tuesday morning.

As is well known, Trump won the presidential election in late 2016, as he won 306 votes and surpassed the necessary 270 votes in the Electoral College, which is the key to winning the U.S. election. His inauguration was held on January 22, 2017.

Trump's closest rival, Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, lost the election.
