Ukrainian army positions shelled 27 times, three soldiers wounded over past day

Over the past day, militants have fired on Ukrainian army positions 27 times in the Anti-Terrorist operation (ATO) area, as a result of which three servicemen of the Armed Forces have been injured, the press center of the ATO headquarters reported.

"Over the past day, illegal armed formations have violated the cease fire regime 27 times. Three Ukrainian soldiers were wounded. In response to enemy provocation, ATO forces opened fire mainly from small arms, heavy machine guns and grenade launchers," the headquarters said on Facebook page on Tuesday morning.

In the Luhansk sector, the illegal armed formations opened fire on the positions of the Armed Forces from small arms and large-caliber machine guns near Donets, Malynove, Katerynivka, Novozvanivka and Stanytsia Luhanska. And around 21:00, a group of militants, during the reconnaissance, tried to approach the positions of the ATO forces near the village of Triokhizbenka. The Ukrainian military found the enemy and forced it to retreat with the help of small arms.

In the Mariupol sector, the militants attacked Ukrainian strongholds from grenade launchers near the villages of Lebedynske, Krasnohorivka, Novotroyitske and Shyrokyne. Two Ukrainian soldiers were injured as a result of firing from the small arms positions of the ATO forces near Bohdanivka. Approximately at 23:00 illegal armed formations used mortars of 120 and 82 mm caliber in Krasnohorivka.

In Donetsk sector, two Ukrainian strong holds near Avdiyivka and Butovka mine came under the mortar and grenade launcher fire. In addition, at 21:00 militants attacked ATO forces from the grenade launcher in Svitlodarsk region. As a result of this shelling, a serviceman of Ukraine's Armed Forces was wounded.

The press center of the ATO headquarters said that after each shelling by the illegal armed formations Ukrainian servicemen opened fire. According to operational data, the militants have losses, both in troops, equipment and armament.
