Gerashchenko says no progress in solving humanitarian problems, security issues in Donbas

Non-compliance with the ceasefire by Russia and its militants leads to a complete lack of progress in resolving humanitarian and security issues in Donbas, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's representative in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group, Iryna Gerashchenko, has said.

"Since our last meeting [the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk], today we have an absolute zero in the progress of the solution of key humanitarian and security issues for Ukraine - in the context of Russia's non-fulfillment and militants controlled by it of the Minsk Agreements," she said during the conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.

Gerashchenko said that the enemy continues shelling the positions of the ATO forces with the use of heavy weapons.

"This is the answer to the question whether it is possible to believe at least one word of Russia and the militants who at the last meeting in Minsk promised that a "grain" truce would be established from June 24. Not a single day on the line of demarcation passed without violating the first and key provision of the Minsk agreement - a ceasefire regime, "she said.
