The Ukrainian National Police's Cyber Police Department has received over 1,000 reports of illegal intrusion of computer systems in the past 24 hours, National Police spokesman Yaroslav Trakalo said.

"These include official reports to the police from 43 companies. The rest sought advice which cyber police officers were providing round the clock. To that end, a headquarters has been set up to provide real-time advice on how to avoid getting a virus infection", Trakalo wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon.

At present, 23 criminal inquiries have been launched into the hacking of computers at both public and private institutions, organizations and enterprises, Trakalo said. Information on another 47 cases could be entered in the unified register of pretrial investigations.
