Poroshenko signs amendments to law on drinking water supply
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed law No. 2047-VIII amending the law on drinking water supply passed by Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada on May 18, according to a last week posting on the official website of the head of state.
The law is approved to improve legislation in the drinking water supply and sewage area, settle relation linked to production, transportation and supplies of drinking water, sewage transportation and purification.
"The implementation of the law would create the conditions for providing for stable supply of good quality drinking water to the public, improving the quality of provided services, reliability of functioning of water supply and sewage systems and preventing manmade and natural disasters," reads the report.
The document indicates powers of authorities in approving the rules of accepting sewage to central sewage systems at the national and local levels.
The bill took effect next day after its publication.
