The Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine will meet several times more before the end of the summer, and a total of 14 meetings are planned before the end of the year, a source from the group organizing the Trilateral Contact Group negotiations has told Interfax.

"Preparations are underway for the next meeting on June 21, then four more meetings are planned before the end of the summer on July 5 and 19 and on August 2 and 23," the source said.

The Contact Group should meet in Minsk nine more times in the fall and winter of 2017, he said.

"Meetings are planned for September 6 and 20, October 4, 18, and 27, November 15 and 29, and December 5 and 20," the source said.

The implementation of the Package of Measures for settling the conflict in Donbas could continue in 2018, and local elections in Donbas are unlikely before the end of this year, the source said.

"The parties are far from a consensus on a political settlement yet, and the organization of local elections requires the implementation of a number of preconditions. The conflicting parties have not yet started their implementation. Efforts are currently focused on stabilizing the military situation, and so it would be too optimistic to talk about local elections in Donbas this year," the source said.
