Over 2,300 Ukrainians enter EU without visas, four refused

Some 2,302 citizens of Ukraine had used the visa-free regime with the countries of the European Union as of noon on Monday, June 12, Oleh Slobodian, the speaker of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, has said.

"Some 15,195 citizens of Ukraine had crossed the EU border with biometric passports as of 12:00. Some 2,302 of them are those who took advantage of the visa-free opportunities: they crossed the border having only a biometric passport," he wrote on his Facebook page.

Slobodian specified that 24% of this number were passengers of aviation checkpoints, the rest traveled by road and rail.

At the same time, according to him, four citizens of Ukraine were denied crossing the border to the EU because of exceeding the period of stay in the country of the previous entry.
