Kolomoisky demands guarantee agreements termination in claim against NBU, PrivatBank

Former owner of PrivatBank (Kyiv) Ihor Kolomoisky on June 9, 2017 filed a claim to Pechersky district court of Kyiv demanding the termination of guarantee agreements.

According to the public register of court cases, defenders in the claim are the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) and PrivatBank.

A jury has been appointed.

Earlier NBU Governor Valeriya Gontareva said that repayment of a debt on refinancing credits in the amount of UAH 13.8 billion by PrivatBank will rid Kolomoisky of all his personal guarantees.

Gontareva said the refusal of such repayment of refinancing, issued to the bank before its nationalization at the end of last year, was stipulated in the memorandum with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

She said that the central bank issued this refinancing before the nationalization of the bank only under real assets and the personal guarantees of Kolomoisky, whereas there are no such real assets to secure the corporate portfolio of loans issued by the bank itself.
