Ukrainian inspectors to visit Turkey on June 12-16 – Defense Ministry

A group of Ukrainian inspectors will conduct checks on a number of international treaties in Turkey on June 12-16, according to the website of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

In particular, the program of the trip includes the inspection of declared places under the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe, the indicated areas and the assessment of information on the Vienna Document of 2011, as well as an observation mission under the Treaty on Open Skies.

The purpose of measures under the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe is to monitor Turkey's compliance with quantitative restrictions on weapons and military equipment.

The purpose of inspections under the Vienna Document is to check the indicated areas regarding the availability or absence of military activities subject to prior notification, as well as the information provided by Turkey on military forces and the plans of deployment of major weapons systems and military equipment.
