Consultation Committee of Ukrainian and Polish presidents to meet in Kyiv on April 11

The next meeting of the Consultative Committee of the Presidents of Ukraine and Poland will be held in Kyiv on April 11, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said on its Facebook page.

"Pavlo Klimkin and Secretary of State of Poland Krzysztof Szczerski discussed the agenda of the dialogue at the level of heads of state. Among the issues that were given priority attention was the preparation for the next meeting of the Consultative Committee of the presidents of Ukraine and Poland on April 11, 2017 in Kyiv, a message says.

The sides also noted the need to continue constructive dialogue at the highest level in the interests of strategic partnership between Ukraine and Poland and confirmed the commonality of the approaches of the two countries to the ways of settling the Ukrainian-Russian conflict on the basis of respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.

Klimkin and Szczerski focused attention on the need to preserve European solidarity, including in matters of energy security.

Separately, there was an issue of the state and prospects for strengthening regional cooperation between the two countries within the framework of existing and new cooperation mechanisms, the Foreign Ministry said.

As reported earlier, in late February, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Polish President Andrzej Duda agreed on holding a meeting of the Consultative Committee of the two heads of state in Kyiv in the near future.
