Poroshenko: upcoming uncontested presidential elections in Russia are argument for increasing combat readiness of Ukrainian Armed Forces

The upcoming presidential elections, scheduled for 2018, is an argument for increasing the combat readiness of Armed Forces of Ukraine in view of the fact that the anti-Ukrainian policy has the support of Russian voters and can be used as an election technology, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said.

"Uncontested presidential elections in Russia, which will be held next year, is an additional argument for increased combat readiness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine now," Poroshenko said, speaking at the operational meeting of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kyiv on Wednesday.

"It is clear that the muscles play is a major election technology. Enemy policy in relation to Ukraine and to the outside world uses, to my regret, the support of the Russian electorate. As they once said, "the people and the party are united," the president said.
