U.S. remembers Ukrainian Maidan's promises to combat corruption, hold reforms The United States calls on the Ukrainian authorities to fight against corruption more actively and introduce economic and political reforms to fulfill the promises made to participants in the events at the Maidan three years ago. "Ukraine has made remarkable progress since then, but much work remains to be done to fulfill the promise of the Maidan. As we remember the courage and resolve shown by the Ukrainian people in the Revolution of Dignity, the U.S. calls on Ukraine's leaders to strengthen efforts to fight corruption and continue political and economic reforms that will honor those who gave their lives to secure a better, more democratic future for Ukraine," U.S. Department of State spokesperson Mark Toner said in a statement on the occasion of the third anniversary of the events that had resulted in the change of power in Ukraine. Toner said that "the U.S. will continue to stand with the Ukrainian people in this effort."
