NACP detects no wrongdoing by agency deputy head Radetsky

Ukraine's National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP) has said it found no signs of administrative offenses allegedly committed by its deputy head Ruslan Radetsky.

A press statement issued by the NACP says information that Radetsky failed to suspend his activities as a lawyer, as evidenced by information on the unified registry of lawyers of Ukraine, appearing on the website of the National Association of Lawyers of Ukraine, was examined. Authorized NACP representatives gathered and analyzed necessary evidence to determine the authenticity of the charges.

"It has been established that on September 18, 2014, Radetsky filed a request addressed to the chairman of Kyiv's Council of Lawyers requesting suspension of his right to practice law, as per Article 31 of the Law of Ukraine on Legal Representation and Lawyer Activities. Radetsky's right to practice law was curtailed based on the request on September 18, 2014," the NACP statement says.

A certificate attesting to Radetsky's lawyer status is stored at Kyiv's Council of Lawyers.

The Council of Layers said Radetsky's notice had not been forwarded to Ukraine's unified register of lawyers for technical reasons.

"No improper actions were noted in the activities of NACP Deputy Head Radetsky in regards to violations connected with his lawyer status or any other activities undertaken by him," the NACP said.
