'Normandy Four' diplomats to elaborate draft roadmap to implement Minsk agreements by end of Nov – Poroshenko

The advisers to the leaders of the 'Normandy Four' countries (Ukraine, Germany, France, Russia) will meet soon to discuss a draft roadmap to implement the Minsk agreements, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.

"We've agreed that we will hold a meeting of the diplomatic advisers to the 'Normandy Four' countries' leaders soon; and the foreign ministers from the Normandy Four countries will hold a meeting no later than in November in order to prepare the next summit, at which a roadmap will be endorsed," the president said in an interview with the Ukrainian television channels aired on Sunday evening.

He recalled that the drafting of the roadmap should be finished before the end of November. "And I think that we must insist this should be done. If it is not done, then at the Council of the European Union, which will convene in December, the leadership of the EU countries will have every reason to continue and bolster the sanctions," Poroshenko said.

In this regard, the Ukrainian side has made a proposal to Brussels to consider the possibility to extend the anti-Russian sanctions not for half a year, but a year. "Now this issue is being discussed in the European Union," the Ukrainian president also said.
