Lawyer for Crimean Tatar Mejlis doesn't rule out possibility of decision to ban organization being contested in ECHR

The decision made by the Russian Supreme Court recognizing the Crimean Tatar Mejlis as an extremist organization and banning it in the territory of Russia may be contested in the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

"This decision will be made by my client, but a claim with the ECHR will most likely be logical," Kirill Koroteyev, a representative of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis, told Interfax.

According to earlier reports, the Russian Supreme Court on Thursday finally recognized as legitimate the ban on the work of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis in the territory of Russia as an extremist organization.
